   BOELL EVENTS AT THE SUMMIT

THE SUMMIT: A CONTRIBUTION ON
FAIRNESS IN A FRAGILE WORLD?

Closing Event on the Jo'burg Memo, UBUNTU
Date: Wednesday, September 4
Time: 18h15-19h45
Venue: Ubuntu Village, German Pavillon

The Jo'burg Memo provides a critical analysis of the 10 years since Rio, its merits and failures. It develops a Johannesburg Agenda for fairness in a fragile world, and presents a set of proposals for this Summit and the years ahead.

At the time of this debate, the summit will be over. In this debate, we want to discuss the outcomes of the summit from the perspective present in the Jo'burg Memo. Did the summit strengthen citizens and livelihood rights? How did he contribute to fairness between the globalized rich and the localized poor? Did we advance towards "Fair wealth"?
