On several days throughout the Global People's Forum, the Heinrich
Boell Foundation provides the space for the presentation of alternative
reports made by NGOs in various countries as a critique of national
government's assessments of their implementation of Agenda 21 since
Rio 1992. The making of some of these shadow reports were actually
also supported by the Heinrich Boell Foundation, e.g. Thailand,
Israel or Ethiopia.
Every day will feature different reports.
On August 26, 16h00, twenty-two NGO coalitions will release
a report on the views of civil society as to why governments
have failed their peoples in advancing sustainable development from
Rio to Johannesburg. Short presentation will be given from authors
of chapters from around the world. After the launch and on the following
days will see detaile dreports of individual countries. These are
August 26: Ethiopia and Denmark
August 27: Israel NGO Shadow Report Book Launch and Exhibit;
Thailand and Canada
August 31: Mozambique, Bangladesh, Kenya
and Malaysia
September 1: Jordan, United States, Costa Rica
and Togo
September 3: Namibia, Brazil, Indonesia and
Bolivia
