This section gives an overview about activities of the Heinrich Boell Foundation Regional Offices in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia) with regard to the WSSD. HBF Asia is focussing on co-ordinating activities such as information sharing, translation of key documents and facilitating groups working towards the WSSD. Jakarta People's Forum: PrepComm IV

Strengthening Civil Society in Cambodia

Civil Society 

 

The Heinrich Boell Foundation recently launched a programme in collaboration with the NGO Forum of Cambodia to promote effective participation by civil society in the WSSD process and organise several capacity building measures. An initial large meeting with representatives from civil society groups took place in Phnom Penh end of September, where a working group has been established to produce an alternative sustainable development progress report for Camodia. Strengthening Civil Society in Thailand

Civil Society 

 

In Thailand, a network of Thai Civil Society organisations has set up a working group to co-ordinate activities leading up to the WSSD and to produce an alternative sustainable development progress report for Thailand to be presented at a national conference in February 2002. The Heinrich Boell Foundation Asia helps facilitating the process and supports a number of activities leading up to the WSSD. MORE

Women Environment Task Force

Art Exhibition 

 

The HBF supports activities of the Women Environment (WEN) Task Force, a subset of the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development. The WEN Task force has identified the WSSD process as its priority for the 2002, it will support lobbying on women's participation in environmental decision-making, women and toxic wastes, women and food security.
